Study Visit in Romania: Meeting UNCHR in Bucharest

During our study visit in Bucharest, we had the chance to meet with representatives from UNHCR Romania, the UN Refugee Agency. Together with our partner organisation L.I.F.E., we discussed key challenges and strategies related to youth integration, particularly for asylum seekers and refugee youth.

The team at UNHCR shared their insights on access to education, legal assistance, and mental health support – as well as their efforts to strengthen cooperation between NGOs, government institutions, and international actors.

We also explored the role of youth participation in shaping inclusive policies and learned about initiatives that empower young refugees to become active agents in their own integration process.

This meaningful exchange contributed directly to our ongoing KA2 project on capacity building in refugee youth integration, and inspired new ideas for collaboration across borders.

The activity is co-financed by the European Union.
